ITINERARY:
DAY 1
After breakfast, we proceed to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The Elephant Orphanage is a sanctuary for rescued, injured or abused elephants and attracts visitors from all over the world to view these magnificent animals. Around 80 elephants have found homes to Pinnawala, including some small babies who have been born into the herd.See baby elephants wondering around their cramped foster home or bottle feed and bathed by their human foster fathers at Pinnawala, about 90 km from Colombo. Most orphans are accustomed to their curious human visitors are harmless. Visit a Spice Garden, Sri Lanka has long been re-owned for its spices, and the best known is Cinnamon, during 15th centuries, spice and ivory traders from all over the world reached this Island with their native cuisines to the Islands resulting in rich diversity of cooking styles. Royal Botanical Garden in Kandy, noted for ts rich and varied collections of tropical woody plants. Occupying 59 hectares has about 4000 species of plants. The most important specimens of the garden include palms, some of which are planted in impressive avenues. It is re-owned for the collection of the varieties of Orchids, it has more than 300 varieties of Orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palms trees. The derivation of Peradeniya Botanical Garden runs as far as the Kingdom of King Vickramabahu III. The court was built in Peradeniya near the Mahaweli River. The same location was followed by King Kirti Sri Rajasinghe (1747 - 1780) who made a Royal Garden here and King Rajadhi Rajasinghe (1780 - 1798) dwelled here who came to power after the KIng Kirti Sri Rajasinghe. At evening, cultural dance show with Kandy impressive Sri Lankan traditional dancing styles and fireworks.
DAY 2 (B)
Visit the Temple of the Tooth or Sri Dalada Maligawa. It is the Temple in the City of Kandy in Sri Lanka. It was built within the Royal Palace Complex, which houses the only surviving relic of Buddha, which is venerated by Buddhists. The relic, which is situated in the Temple of the Tooth, played an important role in politics since ancient times, it's believed that whoever holds the Temple of the Tooth relics holds the governance of the country, which naturally causes the ancient kings to protect the Temple of the Tooth with great effort. Kandy was the Capital of the Sinhalese Kings. The City Tour including a visit to Gem Museum and lapidary. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route visits to Tea Factory, Hanummar Temple and Ramboda Falls. Nuwara Eliya means City of Light, located 1868 meter (6128 feet) above sea level. City was founded by Samuel Baker in 1846 and its climate lent itself to becoming the prime sanctuary of the British civil servants and planters in Ceylon. Nuwara Eliya is called Little England then. Evening walk around Nuwara Eliya, its small town and lake is called as Little England of Sri Lanka.
DAY 3 (B)
Early morning, we depart to visit Horton Plains with breakfast packets. Morning call at 500 am and you will visit Horton Plains at early morning to see gorgeous view of the plains. Horton Plains National Park is a National park in the highlands of Sri Lanka. It lies about 20 KM south of Nuwara Eliya and 20 KM west of Haputale, 2000 meters above sea level among the second and third tallest mountains in Sri Lanka - Kirigalpotta and Totapola. The average temperature in this area is about 16 celcius. The Park covers an area of 31.60 km square and is a mixture of highland forests and wet grassland. This is the only National Park in Sri Lanka where visitors are allowed to walk on their own on the designated tracks. Sambar is the most common animal in the plains but wild boars and leopards too could be found in this area. In Horton Plains, you can visit the world's end which is 4000 feet straight vertical drop. White water rafting in Kithulgala, adventures experience by Level 4 white water rafting on Kalani Ganga in Kithulgala. The famous Oscar award winning movie " The Bridge on The River Kwai" by Pierre Boulle, scene creation of the film was done here. Then, we proceed to Bentota via St. Clair and Devon Falls.
DAY 4 (B)
Free at leisure on the beach, check our at noon and enjoy a River Cruise on Maaduganga, which is the largest wetland in Sri Lanka with mangroves. Proceed to Colombo, and evening visit to Independence Arcade or Dutch Hospital Arcade or Night outing.
DAY 5 (B)
Free at leisure and shopping. Then, transfer to airport for departure home.
